Reaching the Gold-class tier

50,000 SQM (Status Qualifying Miles + Segments) within a calendar year. 25 segments OR SQS 50,000. EDF/flex earning via AC cards; status match via Flying Blue & others. Thresholds use this programme's own currency and are not directly comparable with other programmes.

How hard is it?

Hard for SG-based flyers (little AC flying) but uniquely buyable: 25K can come from pure card/partner spend, no flights required. Genuine Gold-class (75K) realistically needs paid AC premium fares.

Good to know

  • SQC uncapped on Air Canada flights (spend-based: ~2–4 SQC per $ of fare), capped 25,000 via partners/cards
  • Premium Aeroplan credit cards earn 1,000 SQC per $5,000 spend (cap 25,000/year)
  • 25K-only alternate path: Everyday Status Qualification — 100,000 points from everyday spend
